About

A stalwart in the Arts Community for over 40 years, with her warm personality and enthusiasm, Alice is a sought after mentor. Titles include: Dance Animator for FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre; senior faculty member of many professional dance schools and colleges; professional choreographer and adjudicator; advisor in dance programming and career guidance for college, university and high school students.

Alice also provides programming for women’s shelters and homeless teen shelters.
Alice Burke is happiest when teaching and mentoring, including all levels from beginners, to advanced. Using her global travel experience to encourage diversity and change in the industry, Alice yearns create bridges for all artists.

EDUCATION

London, England. Leo Kersley, Principal of Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet (first husband of Celia Franca) took Alice under his wing to train professionally in Cecchetti and Bournonville technique, Alice also trained with The Royal Ballet School as a Junior Associate and London Studio of Performing Arts studying ballet, pas de deux, character, jazz, Graham and drama. Taught by Dame Beryl Grey and Dame Ninette De Valois, Alice went on to guest with London City Ballet and The Scottish Ballet. Under the guidance of Bridget Espinosa, Alice blossomed into a triple threat.

HIGHER EDUCATION

Graduated with a BA from London Studio Centre for the Arts, London, UK. Leading to experience in Ballet, Bournonville, Cecchetti, Graham based technique, Matt Mattox, theatre jazz, drama, pas de deux, Limon, Horton and voice technique, Yoga.

PROFESSIONAL

Lead dancer, singer, actress, choreographer, Artistic Director and Coach; performing on stage and screen all over the globe. Accolades include : Cassie – Chorus Line; Janet – Rocky Horror; Mungo Jerry – Cats; Donna Marie – Blood Brothers; Lead Adage – Dance Captain – Lead Production Singer for Carnival Cruise Line; Lead Dancer- Lead Adage – Rehearsal Director for Bodywork Dance Co (Tours, including Germany,The Netherlands, Thailand, Ireland and England); T.A -Pineapple Dance Studio London. Television credits include Front Row and Timmy Mallet (ITV England) as a lead dancer and backing singer for Nigel Planer and The Dooleys. Choreography credits include: Narnia, Blood Brothers, Musical of Musicals the Musical, Pearl Gloves, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Festival of Lights, St.Catharines Arts Awards, and many other award winning competitive pieces, including YAGP.
